12 Days of Christmas
I had wanted to do more for you all, but I've been driving around the state visiting friends. Maybe one of you can help out:
What are the 12 days of Christmas and is the story about it true?

Are you in youth ministry and you've had it with crazed parents? Rollin' your eyes at the pastoral council? Tired of administration work? Love youth? Love the Church? Appalled at parish politics? Looking for some good games? For a creative ways to teach a lesson for Religious Ed? Just need a place to veg out and say "phew! Someone outside of the parish to talk to!"? Grab y'r Starbucks, turn the computer away from the staff's eyes, grab a seat on a donated dusty couch and let it all go.

I've heard that the story about them being a "secret catechesis" is an urban legend and false. I mean, memorizing all twelve verses is hard enough without having to learn another twelve to explain the first twelve... then you have to learn what the real twelve even mean. There has got to be a better way to catechize than that!
12 Days of Christmas is simply a song. The Liturgical calendar is where its at... We celebrate Christmas for a season, beginning on December 25th until the Baptism of the Lord, which falls on Monday, January 8th this year. So, that gives us 15 days of Christmas! How about that. By the way... Merry Christmas, Jen!
